THE LEVEL OF CONTRAST AND COLORIMETRY

The notion of contrast refers to the difference in intensity between the brightest and darkest points. The greater the nuances between bright “white” and dark “black”, the higher the level of contrast.

A high level of contrast greatly improves the rendering of the image displayed on the screen and will make it possible to obtain a rendering closer to reality. The colors will be more vivid and the screen will therefore attract more attention.  Conversely, a low level of contrast will result in a duller image with a greyish effect.

Linked to this notion of contrast, we find information related to the colorimetry of the screen. First, is the white balance, that is, the ability of an LED screen to display pure white. Indeed, if there is an offset of this value, it will affect all the other colors.
